After her studies, Cornelia Moinat worked as a sculptor in the stone workshops of the Federal Monuments Office in Vienna.

As a restaurateur, she engaged intensively with a wide variety of sculptures and objects and, from them, drew inspiration for her own creative work. Her design, shaped by sketching, allows abstracting compositions to emerge from real suggestions.

The sculpture "Komposition aus Blättern” (Composition of Leaves) is made of Tauern green serpentine and shows a relief of leaves, which the artist was inspired to create by the raw surface. On the one hand, she takes up the theme of the park and nature, but also symbolically recalls the Trapp family, who lived in Thumersbach for many years. The back of the stone was polished, making the natural pattern visible. Moinat also discovered a leaf here that has inscribed itself in the material over millions of years through the metamorphosis of the basalt into serpentine. What a coincidence!
